October 30-31, 2019 at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel Bangkok
The Women CEOs Summit has been convened by the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN) and Ministry of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Commerce Thailand, and ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network Thailand, and is an official event during Thailand’s 2019 ASEAN Chairmanship.
This inaugural Women CEOs Summit 2019 embraces the theme of Thailand’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2019 “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability” that seeks to promote partnership both within Southeast Asia and with the international community whilst forging ahead with the development of an ASEAN community that is people-centred, leaves no-one behind, and looks to the future. The ultimate goal of the Summit is to extend and strengthen the network of ASEAN Women CEOs and define a path forward that enables companies to effectively meet Industry 4:0 challenges in a more gender-balanced way.
“Women constitute over 51 per cent of the population in ASEAN, a region known globally for its sustained dynamism and wide-ranging achievements in social and economic development,” said Khunying Natthika Wattanavekin Angubolkul, Summit Chair and Chairperson of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs’ Network (AWEN) and President of the Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Association of Thailand, “Nevertheless, gender-based disparities remain a matter of concern in our own part of the world, and across the globe as well. Such disparities will have to be reduced and removed so that business and government in ASEAN and elsewhere can manage and transform, better and more equitably, the multi-faceted and complex challenges into shared prosperity and sustainability under the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
Joining the Summit to share their experience and vision, expertise and wisdom is a lineup of international luminaries who will participate in the event as Keynote speakers, moderators, plenary session and panel participants. This Women CEOs Summit is part and parcel of the advocacy and outreach activities and programs for which I have the honor and privilege to convene, as Chair of AWEN during 2018-2020, in carrying out the above mandates from our Leaders. Indeed, this is the first time that such a Summit is organized in ASEAN and by ASEAN. It was the great time for business and policy leaders and executives from within and beyond ASEAN in sharing experiences and strategies in addressing and achieving a gender-balanced future under Industry and Globalization 4.0
